چکیده
(1) Background: Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) is a staple food cereal for most of the rural populations in sub-Saharan Africa. In Burkina Faso, great diversity sorghum cultivar cultivated, but its nutritional potential still needs to be assessed. This study aims characterize physicochemical and profile grains from 15 cultivars grown Faso order identify best ones selection breeding programs. (2) Methods: The physicochemical, nutritional, antioxidant-activity characterizations were performed according standard methods. (3) Results: shows significant differences between traits grains, such as 1000-grain weight, moisture, germination rate. For parameters, contents carbohydrates (79.36%), proteins (9.21%), fats (4.40%) recorded with V12, V8, V11, respectively. heavy are flouriest high ABTS antiradical activity. However, these have low flavonoids. Those ash richest amylose phenolic compounds. Principal component analysis based on characteristics identified four groups varieties specific characteristics. Group 1 (G1), which includes V1, V13, V14, V15, characterized by weight 1000 mealy relatively total carbohydrate content ABTS.+ 2 (G2) V7, V9, V11 less floury good rate, protein, flavonoids, antioxidant 3 (G3) V3, V4, V8 ash, amylose, polyphenol contents, while group 4 (G4), V2 V6, has activity fatty acid content. Conclusions: variation grain cultivars. divided into groups. Among them, could therefore used programs improve sorghum.

Spatial inequalities explained: Evidence from Burkina Faso
Empirical evidence suggests that regional disparities in incomes are often very high, that these disparities do not necessarily disappear as economies grow and that these disparities are itself an important driver of growth. We use a novel approach based on multilevel modeling to decompose the sources of spatial disparities in incomes among households in Burkina Faso. We show that spatial dispa...
متن کاملWater and Fertilizer Influence on Sorghum Grain Quality for Traditional Beer (Dolo) Production in Burkina Faso
In the Central Plateau of Burkina Faso, grain sorghum [Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench] is the major cereal crop used to produce the traditional beer called dolo. Grain sorghum grain samples collected in 2004 and 2005 from experiments combining five water management techniques and four fertilizer treatments in a randomized complete block design with a split plot arrangement of treatments were analy...
متن کاملPoor nutritional status of schoolchildren in urban and peri-urban areas of Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso)
BACKGROUND Malnutrition is still highly prevalent in developing countries. Schoolchildren may also be at high nutritional risk, not only under-five children. However, their nutritional status is poorly documented, particularly in urban areas. The paucity of information hinders the development of relevant nutrition programs for schoolchildren. The aim of this study carried out in Ouagadougou was...
متن کاملAntibiotic resistance in Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso is one of the Subsaharan African nations. No national services for monitoring of antibiotic resistance are available, so the number of reports of resistance patterns among hospital pathogens are inconsistent. In order to evaluate antibiotic resistance, a total of 1998 valuable microrganisms were analysed during 2000 at the Medical Centre St. Camille of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso's c...
